Best Friends
Born in Africa to French wildlife photographer parents, Tippi Degré had a most unusual childhood. The young girl grew up in the African desert and developed an uncommon bond with many untamed animals including a 28-year old African elephant named Abu, a leopard nicknamed J&B, lion cubs, giraffes, an Ostrich, a mongoose, crocodiles, a baby zebra, a cheetah, giant bullfrogs, and even a snake. Africa was her home for many years and Tippi became friends with the ferocious animals and tribespeople of Namibia. As a young child, the French girl said, “I don’t have friends here. Because I never see children. So the animals are my friends.”

Guys, let me tell you about orcas.

Orca whales are mean motherfuckers. They cruise the oceans with only two things in mind: one, having sex, and two, eating every poor fuck they find out there that’s smaller than them. They are such badass motherfuckers that even great white motherfucking sharks don’t dare fuck with them, which in my books, places them above the sperm whale as Biggest Badass of the Ocean. And why don’t sharks bother them, you may wonder? Because orcas fucking learned that if you flip a shark over they go into a sort of coma, so now they do it intentionally so they can eat the motherfucking sharks. Not only that, but orcas have also learned how to hunt sperm whales and motherfucking sea birds.

The orca whale lives in a matriarchal pod. Every pod has unique hunting methods and whatnot, which is passed down from parent to offspring- these scary fuckers have formed civilizations. And what do they do for fun, apart from hopping around on the water’s surface and grinning like crazy mofos? They hunt for fun, going so far as to tip over ice floes and beach themselves just for the thrill of killing.

Now, I know what you’re thinking. Orca whales are too damn cute and smiley looking to be heartless predators of the sea. Well, let me counter-argue with this photo:

THOSE ARE NOT THE TEETH OF A CREATURE THAT WANTS TO BE YOUR FRIEND.

you know this is why I think it’s always 500% ridiculous when people get all up tight about Orca “killer” whales killing the human that swam in their performance or habituating pool at aquariums and what not. Obviously, it’s called a killer whale and not cute cuddly performance whale for a reason. Leave it the fuck alone.
Just because you may have mended it’s broken fin or took some plastic bottle can things out of it’s stomach doesn’t mean you get to train it to swim on it’s tale and dekillerwhaleitize it.
And, just because you happened to achieve to domesticate these whales for the sake of our own sad entertainment still doesn’t mean it’s going to be your best cuddly dog friend and not kill you when you’re swimming next to it.
Every time I hear that a human was “attacked” by a killer whale I find that I quite frankly don’t give a shit because maybe you shouldn’t have been swimming with it in the first place.
